Area Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty vehicles have been covered with what seems to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Automobiles, exterior walls and postal boxes were defaced, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Law enforcement report they were contacted late on Wednesday night, when a resident noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish substance.
The substance had been drawn in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.
Officers then located numerous other vandalized cars and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
These symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations banning the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.
Officials state initial examinations indicate the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no indication as to its source; authorities are not yet informed of any injuries in association with the occurrence," they stated.
Municipal representatives announced they were working "to solve the case" and have asked to the public for details.
A senior representative said the vandalism left him without words and had to be addressed promptly.
"This event strikes at the core of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the right-wing attack in 2020," he stated on online, mentioning the death of nine people by a gunman aiming at people of migrant background in 2020.
