An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.
The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.
A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later released.
Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals injured by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.
The assault - an event that police said was isolated and not considered terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
